<div class="warning">Warning: MetaMask does not support multiple seeds. This means importing a Recovery Phrase (12 or 24 words) into MetaMask will erase all existing accounts from MetaMask. Back up your MetaMask account’s Recovery Phrase and any Private Keys first.</div><div class="warning info">Recommendation: Create a new Chrome profile and install MetaMask to separate the pre-existing MetaMask accounts from the imported Keplr account. </div>

Prerequisites:

  • 1. Ensure you have your Keplr wallet’s recovery phrase or private key handy. To view your recovery phrase or private key, click the profile icon in the top right corner, then click the three vertical dots icon next to each account. Select 'View Recovery Phrase' or 'View Private Key,' depending on the method you used during account import/creation.
  • 2. Backup your MetaMask’s secret recovery phrase and private key.
  • 3. Install MetaMask wallet on a new Chrome profile (separate from the existing profile).

Method-1: Export with Keplr’s Recovery Phrase 

1. Click on MetaMask Extension icon and Click “Forgot Password”

2. In the next step, insert the recovery phrase (12 or 24 words of your Keplr wallet) in the Metamask’s Reset wallet page, set a new password, and click [Restore]. It restores a new Ethereum account on Metamask.

3. In the MetaMask extension, click the Ethereum logo at the top left, then click on '[Add network],' followed by '[Add Network Manually].

4. Fill in the network details as follows and click '[Save]':

5. Now, MetaMask should display the Evmos network, along with the Evmos address and balance, identical to those in Keplr.

<div class="warning info">Note: If MetaMask displays a different address from Keplr's Evmos address, it's possible that an incorrect private key was entered. Please retry the restoration process with the correct private key from the beginning.</div>

Method-2: Export with Keplr’s Private Key

1. Login to MetaMask wallet.
2. Click the dropdown on your account name, then click 'Add account or hardware wallet,' followed by 'Import account.'

3. Input Keplr's private key (ensure there are no trailing spaces) and click "Import." It restores a new Ethereum account on Metamask.
4. On the MetaMask extension, click the Ethereum logo at the top left, then click on '[Add network],' followed by '[Add Network Manually].

5. Fill in the network details as follows and click '[Save]':

6. Now, MetaMask should display the Evmos network, along with the Evmos address and balance, identical to those in Keplr.
